Getting started

The steps from an approved application to your first test chat.

#Activate your account

  1. Open the link in the approval e-mail

    When your application is approved, an e-mail is sent to the address you applied with. Its link takes you to the set-password page. The link can be used once and is valid until the date stated in the e-mail.

  2. Set your password

    The password must be at least 12 characters. Your account gets the tenant’s Tenant Admin role, so you can reach every tenant setting.

  3. Open the admin console

    After saving the password the page shows an Open the admin console link. Later you can sign in at admin.2people.chat with your e-mail and password.

#Register your website

In the admin console open your tenant and go to Websites & widget.

  1. Add a brand

    Enter a Brand name and a Slug (lower-case letters, digits and hyphens) and click Add brand.

  2. Register the website

    Pick the brand and enter your site’s domain in Domain (e.g. example.com). The widget works on that domain and its subdomains over https. For other origins, such as a test environment, add exact origins to Extra origins, comma separated (e.g. http://localhost:3000).

  3. Copy the install snippet

    Each registered website shows an Install snippet. It contains the website’s widget key (starting with wk_).

#Add the widget to your site

Paste the snippet right before the </body> tag on every page of your site. It looks like this:

#Publish an AI agent

For visitor messages to be answered by the AI first, the website needs a published agent. In AI Studio create an agent, save and publish its configuration, then select your website on the Deployment tab. See the AI Studio guide for details.

#Invite your team

In Team & access, use Invite member and enter the e-mail, name, roles and (optionally) departments. The console produces a one-time invite link; send it to your teammate yourself. Once they open it and set a password they can sign in to the agent console.

#Test it

  1. Go online in the agent console

    Sign in to the agent console and set your availability to Online. Only online agents are offered conversations.

  2. Start a chat on your site

    Open a page with the widget, click the bubble in the bottom corner and send a message. If an agent is published, the AI answers first.

  3. Find the conversation in the inbox

    The conversation appears in the agent console Inbox. Use Take over from AI to take it and reply.
